Frequently Asked Questions

What is credit repair?

Credit repair is the process of reviewing your credit reports for information that may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or otherwise questionable and, when appropriate, disputing that information with the credit bureaus or data furnishers. Credit repair does not erase legitimate debt or guarantee that negative information will be removed.

Is credit repair legal?

Yes. Consumers have the right to dispute information on their credit reports that they believe is inaccurate or incomplete. Credit repair companies can assist consumers with reviewing their reports, identifying potential issues, preparing appropriate disputes, and understanding the credit repair process.

How does the credit repair process work?

We begin by reviewing your credit reports and identifying information that may warrant further review. When legitimate grounds for a dispute exist, we assist with challenging the information, monitoring responses, and determining whether additional action may be appropriate.

Does credit repair really work?

Credit repair can help address credit-reporting information when legitimate issues exist. However, everyone's credit profile is different, and results vary. No specific deletion, score increase, or outcome can be guaranteed.

We believe in transparency, consumer education, honest communication, and realistic expectations. We do not promise guaranteed deletions or specific credit score increases.

Can I repair my credit myself?

Absolutely. You have the right to review and dispute information on your own credit reports without hiring a credit repair company. Why should I hire Renova if I can repair my credit myself?

Our service is about convenience, organization, education, and professional assistance. We help you understand what's being reported, identify potential reporting concerns, prepare appropriate disputes, monitor progress, and stay informed throughout the process.

What types of negative items can potentially be disputed?

Depending on the circumstances, we may review collections, late payments, charge-offs, repossessions, bankruptcies, certain inquiries, and other negative information. A negative item isn't automatically disputable simply because it's hurting your credit; there must be a legitimate basis for challenging it.

Can collections, late payments, charge-offs, or bankruptcies be removed?

These items can be reviewed for inaccuracies, incomplete information, inconsistencies, or other legitimate grounds for dispute. Whether an item can be corrected or removed depends on the circumstances and how it is being reported. We cannot guarantee deletion of any particular item.

Can accurate negative information be removed?

Credit repair isn't intended to erase accurate and current negative information simply because it's unfavorable. Our focus is identifying information for which there may be legitimate grounds for a dispute. We will not knowingly submit false information to try to have an account removed.

Can hard inquiries be disputed?

Potentially. An inquiry you don't recognize or believe wasn't authorized may warrant further investigation. However, an inquiry isn't automatically disputable simply because it negatively affects your credit.

Will paying off a collection remove it from my credit report?

Not necessarily. Paying a collection account does not automatically remove it from your credit report. Accurate negative information may remain for the applicable reporting period, even after the debt has been paid. However, certain credit scoring models treat paid collections differently, and some collection accounts may qualify for removal under specific reporting policies.

If an account is removed from my credit report, do I still owe the debt?

Possibly. Credit reporting and the underlying debt are separate matters. Removal of an account from a credit report does not necessarily eliminate your legal obligation to pay a legitimate debt.

Can deleted items return to my credit report?

Yes. In certain circumstances, previously removed information may be reported again. However, federal law establishes specific requirements for reinserting information that was deleted following a dispute. If an item reappears, we can review the circumstances and determine whether further action may be appropriate.

How long does credit repair take?

There is no universal timeframe. Every credit profile is different, and the process can depend on the number and complexity of the items being addressed, responses received, documentation required, and other individual circumstances.

Can you fix my credit in 30 days?

We don't promise overnight credit repair or guarantee that your credit will be “fixed” within a particular number of days. Credit repair takes time, and every person's circumstances are different.

How many points will my credit score increase?

There is no way to accurately predict a specific increase. Credit scores are affected by many factors, including payment history, balances, utilization, account age, new credit, and changes to the information appearing on your reports.

Will credit repair negatively affect my credit score?

Reviewing your own credit reports does not negatively affect your credit score. However, credit scores can fluctuate throughout the credit repair process due to changes in reported information, account balances, payment history, and other factors. Renova Credit Solutions cannot guarantee that your credit score will increase or remain unchanged.

Do you guarantee that negative accounts will be removed?

No. We cannot guarantee the removal of any particular account or credit-report item. We focus on performing the services we've agreed to provide and pursuing legitimate disputes when appropriate.

What happens if a dispute is unsuccessful?

We can review the response and determine whether additional information, documentation, or another legitimate course of action may be appropriate. We will not repeatedly submit disputes that have no reasonable basis.
